CTTC - Heat and Mass Transfer Technological Center

Website
http://www.cttc.upc.edu

Objectives

The objectives of the Center are the research and the  transfer of technology in the heat and mass transfer field. The topics discussed are dealt from the basic research (including the mathematics formulation, the numeric resolution and the experimental validation) as well as the applied research (where the acquired knowledge in the basic research line is applied to the design and heat optimization and to the fluid dynamics of systems and heat engines).  In the line of the basic research, the following topics are dealt: natural and forced convection, turbulence simulation, combustion, biphasic flux, solid-liquid  phase change, radiation, porous mediums, computational  fluid dynamics (CFD) and heating transfer, aerodynamics, high performance computing, etc. The works of the applied research are realized in the cooling fields, the HVAC,  the active and passive solar energy,  the storage of energy by sensitive and latent heat, the design and optimization of heat exchangers, the cooling of motors and the fitting-out of air in the aeronautics and automotive areas, etc.
