TERFIQ - Thermodynamics and Physical Chemistry Group
Objectives
The objective of this Group is the study. This study is made from the point of view of the thermodynamics and using the thermal analysis techniques of the thermal properties, thermophysics and physical-chemistry of the materials. In the materials area, the Group is an expert in polymeric materials in general and in thermo stable polymers more specifically.
- The study of: the structural relaxation, the related processes with the thermo durability and stability, the kinetics of the chemical reactions (polymerization, dynamic and isothermal tanned, thermo degradation and thermo oxidative) and the processes of chemical aging.
- The establishing of the following properties:
a. Thermal properties (calorific capacities, thermal dilatation coefficients , enthalpies of phase change, heat reactions and vitreous transition temperatures)
b. Mechanical properties (dilatation coefficient, storage and losses and losses factor modules)
c. Dielectric properties (dielectric allowing and losses factor)
d. Thermo optical properties
- The techniques used to do all this activity are:
a. Differential conventional calorimetry, with temperature modulation and stress
b. Mechanical analysis ( thermo dynamo mechanic analysis, thermo mechanic analysis, creep)
c. Dielectric analysis
d. Thermo gravitimetric analysis
e. Thermo microscopic optics
f. Infrared spectroscopic by thermal control
